East Tennessee State University, James H. Quillen College of Medicine is seeking a board certified / board eligible (BC/BE) acute care surgeon. The successful applicant will work in a Level I trauma/acute care surgical center and surgical Intensive Care Unit.
BC/BE in General Surgery at time of hire is required. Applicants should be fellowship trained with added qualifications in Surgical Critical Care. Individual must be interested in teaching and clinical research. Clinical responsibilities include trauma patient care, ICU, and emergency general surgery. Teaching general surgery residents, and medical students is an integral part of the program.
Academic appointment at the Assistant/Associate Professor level is available. Position is contingent upon outside funding.

The ideal candidate will be BC/BE in General Surgery and have completed a Fellowship in Acute Surgery, Trauma Surgery, or Critical Care Surgery, or have a demonstrated track record of high quality operative surgery including minimally invasive skills. A strong interest in surgical education is essential and the position is eligible for academic appointment at The University of CT School of Medicine.

For three decades, the nationally acclaimed William Randolph Hearst Burn Center has been setting the standard for excellence in burn care. With an average of more than 1,000 inpatients and 4,000 outpatients per year – about four times the average burn unit – the Burn Center is known not only for providing the highest level of medical care, but also as being one of the most compassionate centers in the world. The Burn Center team is comprised of more than 180 staff members from multiple disciplines, many of whom have decades of service to the Center.
